Tour Details
Participants begin their journey with a guided visit to the historic Cidolo museum, an ingenious dam system once used to collect timber coming down from the forests of the Dolomites. Here, they will discover how logs were stopped, gathered, and bound together to form rafts that would later travel all the way to Venice, contributing to the construction of the city and its ships.
From history, the experience flows into nature with a walk through the scenic grounds of Parco Lazaris, leading to the Garden of Queen Margherita, a historic royal summer residence surrounded by greenery. Here, the pace slows for a moment, giving space to the landscape and the breath of the mountains.
The adventure truly begins when participants meet their rafting guide and head to the river. Equipped with professional gear, they will set off along the Piave River, following the same route once taken by the ancient timber rafts.
For approximately two hours, participants will follow the route of the ancient rafts, carried by the current through more dynamic stretches and wild natural scenery, experiencing firsthand the power and emotion of this historic journey. An experience that blends storytelling, nature, and action, transforming an ancient trade route into an adventure to be lived today.
This is not just a tour, but a living story—where past and present meet, and participants become part of an ancient route, carried forward by the energy of the river.
Cancellations are free of charge up to 7 days prior to the activity date.
If the experience needs to be postponed due to bad weather, participants will be contacted by phone to reschedule or request a refund.
