In the heart of the Dolomites
In the year 2022 a new Altavia has been built in the heart of the Dolomites.
We are on the Marmarole mountain range in Cadore, Belluno Dolomites, Venetian Region. The Marmarole are bordered to the north by the Sorapiss group, to the east by valley of Auronzo di Cadore (which extends to Misurina), to the south by the Cadore while to the west we find the King of the Dolomites Mount Antelao.
The Marmarole are famous for being the memorable backdrop of some of the most famous refuges in the Dolomites such as rif. Chiggiato, rif. Monte Agudo, rif. Ciareido, rif. Baion, rif. San Marco, rif. Galassi and rif. Capanna degli Alpini.
The new trekking
This new Altavia, mapped and equipped by the 3 Cime di Lavaredo Mountain Guides, immerses users in the most unspoiled nature. We are in one of the wildest places in the Dolomites where you rarely meet other hikers and where your smartphone will not be able to disturb you.
Marmarole Selvagge is a new adventure for those who want to seriously unplug. The trek takes four days of walking with one night in a refuge and two nights in a tent. It unfolds at an altitude between 1800m and 2600m in a wild and unspoiled environment to give you crazy views and unique moments of solitude. Along the way you can enjoy an incredible skyline with mountains as the Cadini of Misurina, the Three Peaks Dolomites, the Dolomites of Sesto, the Sorapiss group, Mt. Pelmo and his majesty, the King of the Dolomites, Mt. Antelao.
Along the way, instead of noisy hikers, you will have a chance to meet the locals. We are talking about chamois, which are regulars in the Dolomites, and ibex, which, on the other hand, are only encountered on the hillsides of the Marmarole.
You will be accompanied by a mountain guide who will take care of your safety and the total organization of your trek. You will travel light as all sleeping and eating equipment will be moved by the organization from one campside to the next.
